Trust and safety

How the exchange keeps everyone safe

A license is only worth something if it really works for the person who buys it. These rules are how we make sure it does.

How it works

  1. Verified owners

Sequoia licenses are checked with the Sequoia license system before the listing goes live. Sellers of other makers' plugins confirm they own the license and that it can be transferred.

  2. Offer and agree

Pay the asking price or make an offer, and talk to the seller here on the exchange.

  3. A clean handoff

The license moves to the buyer, automatically for Sequoia plugins or through the maker's own transfer process. The buyer's copy turns on, the seller's turns off, and the change is recorded.

  4. Rated sellers

Buyers rate every sale, so you can see who has a track record.

What can be listed

Full licenses that you bought and still own, for any plugin whose maker allows license transfers. Sequoia licenses are checked and moved by the exchange itself. Licenses from other makers are confirmed by the seller and move through that maker's own transfer process.

Never allowed: NFR (not-for-resale) copies, education or student licenses, subscriptions, rent-to-own, cracked or pirated copies, and anything you don't own.

Checks on every seller

Keep the whole deal here

Never pay a seller directly, by any app, and never send gift cards or crypto. If anyone asks you to, it's a scam: report it. Messages and listings that share outside payment details, email addresses or phone numbers are held for a check before they're delivered.

How a sale works

  1. You make an offer or pay the asking price.
  2. The seller accepts.
  3. Sequoia moves the license to you. Your copy activates and the seller's stops working.
  4. The sale is recorded and you can rate the seller.

Fees

Listing is free. When a sale completes, the exchange keeps 8.5% of the price, which includes the plugin maker's share. CROWNFIRE Heirloom seed transfers carry a 15% transfer fee. Fees are always shown before you list.

CROWNFIRE Founding Ring

There are 350 Founding Ring licenses, and never more. A general edition of CROWNFIRE will be sold later without Founding Ring numbers. Heirloom seeds are numbered, signed and transferable. We never promise they'll gain value.
